The 34/57 Channel of Power according to Traditional Human Design is ‘a design of an archetype’. It is an influential and powerful energy that is based on acute intuitive awareness.
It is the combined energy of Human Design Gate 34: The Gate of Power and Human Design Gate 57: The Gate of Intuitive Clarity and Instinct.
- Gate 34 is all about harnessing power for the good of humanity and inspiring others through it’s individuality. It looks to Gate 57 for support to become aware of itself and it’s natural power.
- Gate 57 is all about trusting your intuitive knowing and feeling the truth in every moment. It looks to Gate 34 for support in harnessing its power.
The Channel of Power is also categorised as a Generated Channel this simply means that the channel is connected to the sacral and expressing the energy located here follows the same strategy as our Generator energy types – ‘to wait to respond’. What does this mean? That you need to trust and allow your body to respond in the now. To stay acoustically alert and respond when you feel that sacral nudge.
How do you know if the Channel of Power 34/57 is activated in your Human Design Chart?
The Channel of Power 34/57 is activated through Gate 34 located in Sacral and Gate 57 located in the Spleen.
It is part of the Individual (Integration Sub-Circuit) Circuit, meaning those who have it activated are here to be different and unique in order to bring change into the world. As it sits in the Integration Sub-Circuit (or also called Integration Channel) it is deeply esoteric and mystical energy that can hold both the notion of individualistic energy and oneness with the universe.
High Expression of 34-57 Channel of Power
In it’s highest expression the 34/57 Channel of Power shows up as:
- Having consistent acces to your intuition
- Trusting and allowing the body to respond in the present
- Physical fitness and vitality
- Attuned to sounds and vibrations and ability to hear and sense beyond words
- Living life unconditioned by others expectations and opinions
Challenges of 34-57 Channel of Power
Challenges that you may face with the activated 34/57 Channel of Power include:
- Can seem unavailable to listening to others
- May appear selfish as you look after your own needs
- Letting the mind override your intuition
- Illogical responses (your gift is based on primal wisdom!)
How does unconscious or conscious definition affect channels?
When channels are defined (coloured) they provide consistent, reliable communication between the two energy centres they connect in your chart.
- When channels are conscious (coloured black in traditional charts and orange if downloaded from this website), you are likely aware of how this energy plays out in your everyday life.
- When channels are unconscious (coloured red in traditional charts and purple if downloaded from this website), you may not have realised they were there unless pointed out by others. Or you may have thought that everyone felt that way.

Remember to have the Channel of Power activated in your Human Design Chart, both Gate 34 and Gate 57 must be defined.
